LK 7:18-23
December 14 is the Memorial of Saint John of the Cross, Priest and Doctor of the Church. The gospel for this day begins by telling us that John summoned two of his disciples, and he instructed them to go to the Lord. Once they reached the Lord, the men were told to ask “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” When the men arrived to Jesus, he healed them of their diseases, bad spirits, and sufferings, and he granted sight to those who could not see. Jesus then told the men to tell John what they heard and saw. Jesus instructed the men to inform John that they just witnessed the lame walking, the blind seeing, the lepers being cleansed, the deaf hearing, and the dead being raised. Jesus finishes by saying those who take no offense at Him shall be blessed.
