MT 9:27-31
Faith is the cornerstone of Catholicism. In Matthew 9:27-31, Jesus encounters two blind men who asks him to have pity on them. Jesus asks if they believe he can heal them and when they say yes, he does so. We hear in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” If we have faith in God and his mercy, all things are possible. Trusting in something you can’t see is one of the most challenging parts of faith, but God’s works are all around us. We see God in the eyes of our family members, in the random acts of kindness that occur everyday, and in beauty of nature all around us. If we trust in God’s mercy and his willingness to help us, we can accomplish anything.
