Isaiah 11:1-10
The passage from Isaiah is speaking about the coming of Christ. The shoot from the stump of Jesse, symbolizing Jesus, will give justice to the poor and needy and will strike down the righteous and the wicked. In the passage, Isaiah describes relationships between animals and humans that are usually enemies and how in Christ they will be like brothers. Finally, the last lines say that when that day comes all of those who follow Jesus will find him in his “dwelling place”, meaning heaven. What I take from this passage is how in Christ we can be united with those who are so different. God will be the common factor in our relationship with people whom we would never think we could be similar to. This shows the awesome power of God.
