💙💛 Last week the Ashleigh Ellis High Jump Pit was officially dedicated at Kellenberg Memorial, honoring Ashleigh Whitfield Ellis ’08. Ashleigh broke records as a high jumper at Kellenberg, earning an athletic scholarship to the University at Albany where she competed in track and field.
Family, friends, alumni, and current track and field students gathered to welcome Ashleigh and celebrate her legacy of determination, excellence, and boundary-breaking performance.
In 2021, Ashleigh founded Unity Ice Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding diversity and representation in figure skating. Through this mission, she provides young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to grow in confidence and community. Ashleigh shares, “I constantly look at these kids and watch their growth through skating, and I’m just so excited for them, and just so proud to be able to provide this opportunity to them.”
This dedication was a beautiful reminder of how Ashleigh continues to inspire current students and empower the next generation to rise “Versa L’Alto, To the Heights!” @kellenbergathletics @kellenbergxctf

Kellenberg is hosting a summer camp for the Boy Scouts to complete the Pope Pius XII religious emblem, where they learn about their call to holiness, vocations, and living in the world as a Catholic.
Part of the award is to have a panel discussion with vocations! Today they welcomed Mr. Fechtmann (KMHS Athletic Director) for marriage, Bro Gerard Rosario DeAngelis, O.P. `17 and Bro. Michael Patrick Duffy, S.M. `16 for religious life, and Fr. John Crozier `11 for the priesthood. Bro. Gerard and Fr. John are both Eagle Scouts!

Kellenberg Memorial High School Alumni
When you graduate from Kellenberg Memorial, you become part of an expansive alumni network of over 14,000 Firebirds across the globe who are united in their shared experience of the Marianist education of the heart and mind. Our graduates go on to become leaders in finance, law, medicine, technology, education, civil service, and engineering. Many Firebird alumni choose lives of service to others by entering into religious life or becoming members of the armed forces, police departments, and fire departments.
In 2014, Kellenberg Memorial established its first official Alumni Board, the mission of which is to provide opportunities for Firebird alums to maintain contact with each other and the school, as well as inspire the larger alumni family to work together to ensure that Kellenberg Memorial’s quality Catholic education remains attainable to families of diverse economic backgrounds.
