Ashlin Conroy, KMHS 2012, has been named to the 2012-2013 “Big East All-Academic Team Conference.” Ashlin was a former cross country and track team captain at Kellenberg, and the CHSAA Intersectional Champion in the 3000 meter steeplehase in both her junior and senior years, and her upset win in the 2012 3000 meter race at the CHSAA Indoor Intersectional Championships galvanized the team to an incredible upset win over St. Anthony’s at their home turf.
Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the league’s member institutions, then reviewed and approved by the conference Academic Affairs Committee. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must compete in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport; attain a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 for the preceding academic year; and complete a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits (not including remedial courses).
The honorees will be presented with certificates at a special halftime ceremony at a men’s basketball game at Madison Square Garden during the 2013–14 season.
Congratulations!
