MT 25:31-46
In this Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the sheep and goats. In this story, Jesus tells of how, when we will be judged, those of us who provided lovingly for our neighbors, referred to as the sheep, will be accepted by the Lord, while those of us who disregarded those in need, also known as the goats, will be punished for it. Jesus explains how he is in everyone, especially “these least ones,” so when we extend kindness to others we are extending our love to Christ. From this parable we must take away the knowledge that God is in all of us, and that to love our neighbor is to love God.
