JN 5:17-30

This gospel reminds us that we are not equal to God and that we need him for everything we do. We should follow in Gods footsteps at all times. “Nor does the Father judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to the Son, so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life”, this part of the gospel demonstrates the importance of the Holy Trinity. The Son, Jesus, is just as important as the Father, God. The Son was given the power to judge because he is human. We are reminded that we are following God’s will for us not our own. If we follow God and are good people we will be granted eternal life but if we fail and do bad things we will be condemned to hell.
