John 5:1-16
In the Gospel, Jesus brings our attention to the healing power of humility. The man with the mat could not even bath himself yet he finds it within himself to lay down his pride to admit his weakness. His illness had plagued him for almost 40 years and yet the simple act of admitting his fault allowed Jesus to heal him. This should help us to focus during this season of Lent. Although we have flaws, some of them following us for years, if we can lay down our pride, Jesus can enter into us and heal our broken spirits. Their is no “wrong time” for this healing or forgiveness, even on the Sabbath, the work of healing can change our lives. “
