Mt 28: 1-10
Today’s Gospel is Matthew’s account of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Mary and Mary Magdalane approach the tomb, an angel comes to them telling them Jesus has risen, He will meet them in Galilee, and to tell the other apostles. On their way, they see Jesus who tells them not to be afraid and to tell the apostles they will see Him in Galilee also.
The cross on which Jesus died is a symbol of His love for each of us. His Resurrection from the dead saves each of us from our sins. He conquered death on the cross to redeem the world. God sent his son to us so that we one day may live with Him in Heaven. This gives us hope and consolation of one day being in paradise with God.
