Dear Kellenberg Students, Parents, Alumni and KAPA Family,
As many of the KMHS family knows, the Marianist Community has a close relationship to Bishop Chris Cardone, O.P. (Father Tom’s brother), and the people of the Solomon Islands. In fact, Brother Roger Poletti, S.M. and Brother Robert Leahy, S.M. will be traveling to the Solomon’s in a few weeks. This spring, we would like to raise money to assist in creating schools, getting book materials, and supplying simple medical clinics with the basics for care. As Pope Benedict recently said, “One of the promising indications of a renewal in the Church’s missionary consciousness in recent decades has been the growing desire of many lay men and women […] to cooperate generously in the ‘missio ad gentes.’ As Vatican Council II stressed, the work of evangelization is a fundamental duty incumbent upon the whole People of God”.
The images below show the great need that exists in the Solomon Islands for basic provisions.
These are pictures of the school that has been built within the past two years with the contributions received.

Below, you’ll find images of the hospital on the island. This hospital is where all basic care offered for those who live on the islands.

The Kellenberg Family will be assisting Bishop Chris with a drive during the week of May 29th. We are asking students and their families to make a monetary donation through an envelope distributed in homeroom. We ask you to be as generous as possible. If any family would like to make a larger donation, please contact Mr. Finn or Mr. Basile in the ARK. Checks can be made out to Kellenberg Memorial High School.
Additional photos of our work in the Solomons can be viewed by going to the Kellenberg web page and clicking onto the Photo Gallery.
You may also use the box below to make your contribution online through Google Checkout.
Thank you very much for your consideration and generosity.
