More than forty students responded to the call to spread the Good News at the 2017 Day of Prayer at the Queen of Peace Residence in Queens Village, New York. The group, composed of both high school and Latin school students, volunteered their time to join in the praying of the rosary. Eighth grader Alex Menachery commented that, “The Queen of Peace Prayer Service was a time for me to interact with God.”

The senior residents and the students also prayed for each other and for vocations to religious life. At the conclusion of the prayer service, the entire congregation joined in the singing of Salve Regina.

The commingling of young and old voices filled the chapel in an uplifting manner, reminding everyone present of the incredible power of prayer. Junior Shannon Shea reflected, “Being able to attend the Queen of Peace Prayer Service allowed me to grow spiritually and experience many people from different walks of life.”
