Dear Seniors and Parents:

At Kellenberg Memorial we have established an academic program that includes four full years of study in all subject areas. Our goal is to provide a liberal arts education that prepares each student for higher academic pursuits. The seniors have worked throughout their years at Kellenberg Memorial to build up a momentum for entering college. We have one more opportunity to extend to the seniors to assist in their successful transition to college.

Beginning on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, and continuing until Wednesday, June 19, 2019, the Math and Science departments will offer seminars in Statistics, Introduction to Calculus and Physics. The purpose of the seminars is to give the students extensive introductory exposure to college level courses and reduce the anxiety with which many students venture into these courses. The seminars will be particularly valuable to those students whose future studies will include Calculus and/or Physics as part of their collegiate program. Primarily students who plan on studying in the engineering, medical, pharmaceutical, health related and science related fields will find these seminars to be essential as they begin their respective college level programs. Many graduates who have participated in these seminars have mentioned how valuable they are.

The seminars will meet from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on alternating days ( the Math Seminars meet on Mondays and Wednesdays; Physics meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays ) from Tuesday, May 28 until Wednesday, June 19.  During the week of March 25 – 29, 2019, the Seniors will receive a presentation in their science and math classes by their classroom teachers concerning these seminars. Seniors who wish to take advantage of this program will have the opportunity to register for it through their current Math and Science classes. The students will be given a registration form which they will bring home for parental permission and signature. Participants may elect to enroll in one, or both subject areas. The seminars are free of charge.

The advertisement flyers are available on the KMHS website and in this email. Please feel free to contact my office should you have any questions concerning participation in these seminars.

Sincerely,
Mr. Kenneth J. Conrade
Assistant Principal for Academics
