Mt 8: 5-11
The gospel of Matthew talks about the work of God always existing. The gospel reflects Jesus’ experience in Capernaum, when he is approached by a centurion. The centurion tells Jesus that his servant is at home suffering dreadfully from paralysis, and Jesus willingly goes to cure him. The centurion replies by telling Jesus that he is not worthy of the presence of the Lord under his roof. Jesus was amazed at the man’s reply and tells him that he has never seen so much faith in someone. Lastly he says that many will come from all different directions and happily dine at the banquet in the Kingdom of Heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The main message of this gospel is that all people are equal and when we die and go to heaven even the lowest of peoples will be as equal as the highest.
