The Kellenberg Firebirds have always been a very deep and consistant program throughout the years. The same holds true for the Kellenberg Firebirds in 2012.
While the Firebirds graduated Two All League players in Tim Deegan and Steven McNoble in 2011, the Firebirds return their All League ace pitcher, Brian Karp amongst many other solid 2011 contributors such as Mike & John Palladino, Brian Weissheier, and Doug Kraeger.
Karp was an early sophomore call up two years ago. He is big, strong, solid competitor and should form up as the team’s number 1 starting pitcher again in 2012.
The Palladino brothers are tough, grinding players that are catalysts for the lineup and play solid defense.
Matt Weissheier is a first baseman pitcher who should see a lot of time on the mound. He is another big, strong, tough competitor and should be another outstanding ace on the mound for Kellenberg.
Lastly, Doug Kraeger is a tall, lean infielder with signficant power to all fields. He is a versatile infielder who can play shortstop, third base, first base. Look for Kraeger as one of the league’s most intimidating hitters.
Look out for junior middle infielder Joe Lombardo who can play all three infield spots and will be a big presence for Kellenberg for the next two years. Joe is a difficult out at the plate with a good eye for the strike zone. He is also a smooth fielding infielder who plays smart baseball.
