Vincent Fariello ’19 makes his donation at this fall’s senior blood drive.
By Phoenix Editor Anya Murphy ’19:
On Thursday November 8, 144 seniors and faculty gave the gift of life at the first blood drive of the school year. Despite a slow start with only 83 sign-ups on Tuesday morning, the seniors rallied and by the end of the day on Wednesday, over 180 people had volunteered to give at the drive. Total, 144 donors gave enough blood to help to save approximately 432 lives.
“This was my first time giving blood,” remarked senior Francesca Morales, “and as an EMT in training and an aspiring doctor I was excited to take part in something that is so important to saving people’s lives.”
The senior class looks forward to giving again at the next drive on February 7.
