On February 26, 2013, all students of the Brother Joseph C. Fox Latin School took the National Latin Exam. The examination is a combination of Latin grammar, word derivations, mythology, Roman culture, and a reading comprehension.
The Latin School students did very well. Many students received certificates and ribbons or medals for their accomplishments. In particular, five Latin School students received perfect scores on the exam. In the 8th grade, Erin Morrissey and Christopher O’Hara had perfect exams. Only 792 out of over 140,000 students from around the world attained this distinction. In the 7th grade, Gerasimos Copoulos, Ismenia Ginebra, and Noelle Maronak had perfect exams. Only 688 out of 19,100 students internationally attained this distinction.
Mrs. Howe and Mrs. Zabala are very proud of these Latin scholars!
