Kellenberg junior Jazmine Fray, in the closest and most exciting race of the day at the New York Federation Track and Field Championships, held at Cornell University’s Barton Hall on March 1, finished second to Tappen Zee High School runner Erin Jaskot in the 1000 meters 2:54.62-2:54.69. In garnering this valued silver medal Fray broke former Kellenberg runner and New York State Champion Kim Mackay’s (now competing for Princeton University) school record of 2:54.96. Fray will compete at the National Championships held at the NYC Armory on March 15-16.
