On Sunday, April 26, Kellenberg Memorial High School hosted the annual Catholic League Communion Breakfast. The attendees were members from the four local high school Catholic League chapters (Kellenberg, Chaminade, Sacred Heart, and St. Anthony’s), as well as members from the Long Island chapter. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Philip Eichner, S.M., Chairman of the Catholic League, and the liturgical music was performed by the St. Anthony’s High School Chorus. Following Mass, Mr. Jim Krug, the President of the Long Island chapter and Moderator of Catholic League at Kellenberg, began the program in the cafeteria. After the attendees enjoyed a lovely breakfast, Dr. William Donohue, President of the Catholic League, addressed the crowd, speaking on his newest book: The Catholic Advantage: Why Health, Happiness, and Heaven Await the Faithful. The book focuses on research done on the lives of lay Catholics, priests, and nuns, especially cloistered nuns, showing that those who live lives in self-sacrifice find much more joy. Fr. Philip gave the convocation, after which Dr. Donohue signed books in the lobby.
A big thank you goes out to all who participated and helped in another successful event!
