LK 11:29-32
People started to gather around Jesus as he preached to them. Jesus explains to them that their generation is an evil one. He told them how their generation wanted a sign but no sign would be given except the sign of Jonah. Jesus spoke of the second coming. He says that the son of God will become a sign for their generation. Jesus said, “At the judgment, the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here”.
This gospel explains that there is more after life. Jesus tells his people that there will be no greater sign than the son of God. This means that we must not ask for a sign of faith but instead believe in God and God alone without needing a sign of proof. Jesus also says that God is greater then any prophet and when they realize that God is greater than any prophet, they will condemn those who lack faith. This gospel asks you, do you have complete faith in God or do you need a sign?
