John 8:21-30
In this Gospel, Jesus speaks to the Pharisees about how He does not belong to this world and how everything He does is through the Father. As always, Jesus is the perfect example for us to follow.
It is very easy to get caught up in material things, especially with all the new technology that is being created. And with this advancement of technology, a lot of times everyone is looking to have the latest thing. Technology is a wonderful thing that can do many great things! However, God wants us to remember that as cool as all of these things are, there are so many more important things in life. There is so much more value in having a simple conversation at the dinner table with your family than trying to get as many likes as possible on your latest Instagram post. Like Jesus, we should not belong to this world, but to the kingdom of God.
We also must remember that God is always with us, and that everything we do should be for Him. That is certainly easier said than done. Perhaps use the remainder of Lent to draw closer to God and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
