Lenten Prayer Reflection by Sarah Newman

MT 5:17-19
In my opinion, the overall message of this gospel is that all Christians are called to embody the commandments. Jesus tells us that we will be rewarded in Heaven if we follow his teachings and the teachings of the prophets that preceded him. Lent is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on how we live the commandments and to think about how we can further our understanding of them. By doing do, we will enrich our relationship with Jesus. Jesus tells us that the Ten Commandments are the foundation of our faith and it is essential that we hold them in high esteem.
