On Wednesday, November 24th, all Firebird alumni are invited to come back “home” to celebrate Thanksgiving Mass at Kellenberg Memorial and reconnect with friends, faculty, and staff.
This year, in an effort to ensure the health and safety of the Kellenberg Memorial community while still maintaining a beloved alumni tradition, there will be no classes for the student body. This calendar adaptation will allow for a more leisurely, flexible celebratory event for Firebird alumni returning to the Bird’s Nest. Faculty and staff will be in attendance and look forward to welcoming our alumni back to campus!
Mass will begin promptly at 10 AM and will be followed by brunch and tours of the new Jim & Diane Rowen STEM Center. Alumni are asked to arrive on campus no earlier than 9 AM. The day’s festivities will conclude at 12:30 PM. Please note that masks must be worn in the building at all times when not eating or drinking.
As always, we ask that an atmosphere of reverence is maintained throughout Mass. Mobile phones, as well as food and/or drink of any kind, are not permitted in Mass.
This is a complimentary event for which all attendees must register using the form below by November 23rd at 8 PM. Registrants will receive a confirmation email which they must present upon check-in in the main lobby. Walk-ins are welcome, but must still register by scanning the QR code which will be displayed on the doors of the main lobby.
Any questions may be directed to the Alumni Office at (516) 292-0200 x396.
Alumni, Help Us Kick-Off the Annual Queen of Peace Collection!
In true Kellenberg Memorial spirit, we will be taking this time of thanksgiving as an opportunity to assist the Little Sisters of the Poor by collecting toiletry and non-perishable food items for the residents at Queen of Peace. We are asking returning alumni to help kick off the school-wide drive by bringing at least one item (but the more, the better!) from the below list.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Toiletry Items
Shampoo, hand & body lotion, mouthwash, liquid hand soap, deodorant (not aerosol), toothpaste, body wash, bar soap (Dove, Lever, or Olay), facial tissue, paper napkins.
Non-Perishable Food Items
Cake mixes, cookies, crackers, canned fruit, canned fruit juices, coffee, dry cereals (no sugar), oatmeal, pancake mix, raisins, rice, canned salmon, canned soup, tea bags, and canned tuna fish.
