This week the senior classes took part in the final session of senior transitions. The assembly was hosted by Mr. Richard Kerins, Esq., a parent of multiple Kellenberg Memorial High School alumni and experienced attorney on Long Island. In the presentation, the Mr. Kerins discussed the importance of understanding your legal rights given to you under the United States Constitution, and what changes under the law once students reach 18 years of age. In the first Senior Transitions seminar, the seniors learned about the importance of managing personal finance. Mr. Kerins tied in our first seminar to his by explaining what legal rights and responsibilities we will assume when we enter into contracts for the first time, such as when we sign for a lease on an apartment or a car.
