When Mike, a senior, went to the bench with his third foul midway through the third quarter and the Firebirds leading by six, Steve, a junior, scored seven of Kellenberg’s next nine points. By the time they were reunited on the court for the fourth quarter, Kellenberg was in command.
“I do not want this to end,” Mike Torre said slowly, emphasizing each word, after scoring 29 points while his brother added 21 in No. 4 Kellenberg’s 75-65 victory over No. 1 Holy Trinity Sunday in a CHSAA basketball semifinal at Farmingdale State.
