Led by senior Deirdre Lewin’s brilliant 1000-meter victory and her courageous first place anchor leg in the 4×800 meter relay, the Kellenberg girls tied for second at the CHSAA Intersectional Championships at Ocean Breeze Stadium.The tie was broken in Kellenberg’s favor by the greater number of second place finishers. Deirdre Lewin joins younger sister Maureen, Julia Bryant, Nora Bennett, Gabby Schreib, and Sarah Newman in qualifying for the New York State Federation Championships at Cornell University in March. Also notable was junior Kayra Theodore’s best high jump ever, jumping five feet. Congratulations ladies!
