Senior setter Megan Pfundstein was named the NSCHSGAA Player of the Year for the 2016 volleyball season in recognition of both her leadership skills and physical talents.
Pfundstein directed the offense for the Firebirds this season, distributing 802 assists to a hitting corps of Kiersten Cote, Mary Weissler, Trinity Manning, Morgan Staab, and Madison Gale. At the net, Pfundstein also compiled 12 solo and 48 assist blocks and defensively scraped up 228 digs.
Her team leading 39 aces and 95.8% service accuracy propelled Kellenberg to the league title and a runner-up finish at the New York State Catholic High School tournament this past Saturday. Congratulations to Megan on a well-deserved honor. Go, Firebirds!
