Troop 87 ventured out into freezing temperatures to camp at Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine, New Jersey on January 6, 2017. 16 scouts went about cooking, hiking, and various outdoor activities as the weather intensified into a steady snowstorm. The shelter of a warm cabin allowed time for training, advancement, meals, sleep, most importantly, a quick thaw in between snowball fights. The young scouts had the opportunity to witness where their scouting journey can take them. Sunday morning’s real-feel temperature of -1º Fahrenheit reminded the scouts that their training prepares them to face extreme challenges with ease.
