Congratulations to the twelve Kellenberg Memorial students who were awarded in the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s annual Respect Life Contest. This year, Kellenberg Memorial students received over $3000 in scholarships awarded by the diocesan Respect Life office.
Winners representing Kellenberg Memorial High School include Christelle Pascal ’19 (First place; Music, Level II), Olivia Carmody ’23 (First place; Poetry, Level I), Meaghan Barrett ’20 and Megan Connaughton ’20 (Second place; Mural Group, Level II), Carmencita Bonilla ’20 (Second place; Poetry, Level II), James Dionisio ’20 (Second place; Video, Level II), Sean O’Hara ’20 (Third place; Bookmark, Level II), Brandon Zaffiris ’20 (Third place; Essay, Level II), and Kamil Szwed ’20 (Third place; Photography, Level II).
Additionally, three Kellenberg Memorial students were awarded through contest entries made through their parishes. These winners include Julia Ann Baratta ’23 from St. Anthony’s Parish in Oceanside (Third place; Photography, Level I), Mikaela Tucker ’20 from Curé of Ars Parish in Merrick (First place; Photography, Level II), and Sarah Ruggiero ’20 from St. Edward the Confessor Church in Syosset (Second place; Photography, Level II).
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 19, at the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Agnes Cathedral and will be televised on the Catholic Faith Network.
