The Kellenberg Girls’ Sprint Medley Relay team of freshman Chrissy Foster, sophomore Arielle Ramirez, and seniors Deirdre Lewin and Gabby Schreib ran to a close second in their event at the 109th running of the historic Millrose Games indoor track and field meet. The quartet all ran to their fastest times, as they took off over four seconds from their previous best. Running the half mile anchor leg, Lewin cut a forty meter deficit to a mere six feet at the finish line, bringing the crowded Armory crowd to its feet. Her split of 2:14 was the fastest anchor by a New York high school girl this winter. Their time of 4:08.35 puts them at fourth in the nation at this time, while their arch-rival, St. Anthony’s, who won in 4:07.60, ran to the nation’s third fastest time of this competitive season.
