Easy. Simple. These words were the focus of Mr. Monte Leeper’s STEM architecture talk, which took place on Wednesday, November 8. During the talk, Mr. Leeper expounded on his past experiences and how they built up to where he is today. He described how as a young boy, he was originally drawn to the principles that he still uses today when designing structures, and even formulated how he visualizes buildings before they’re down on paper. He explained how easy and simple was not the way out, and how he combats those in the industry who want to take that route.
Junior Olivia Lettieri enjoyed the talk, saying: “Mr. Leeper encouraged me to not sit back and watch as others are successful— that I need to go out and achieve success through hard work and dedication. I wasn’t originally interested in becoming an architect, but now I’m considering minoring in architecture while in college.”
Mr. Leeper encouraged those attending the talk to persevere and use the struggles they encounter in life as defining moments. The STEM architecture talk inspired students to dream big, and push themselves beyond easy and simple to achieve excellence.
