    After years of participation in Science Olympiad and STEM-based activities at Kellenberg Memorial, senior Aidan York took his dedication and passion for science to new heights through his participation in the Garcia Summer Research Program from July to August 2019. The Garcia Center for Polymers at Engineered Interfaces is Stony Brook University's research center for materials science, with the program focusing heavily on chemical and mechanical engineering of polymers. Hundreds of young high school scientists from all over the world compete for one of under one hundred available spots.

    The 2019 HSNCT saw great success for Kellenberg, with an exemplary performance by the A team, as well as a strong B team performance which shows that the successful program will continue for years to come. The four seniors, Chelsea, Natalie, Kate, and Tyler, will finish their season by participating in the National Scholastic Championship, hosted by the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence, on June 8-9, 2019. The teams would like to thank their coaches, Bro. Nigel and Miss Lamonica, for all they have given to the program this season!

    On Saturday, May 11, Kellenberg Junior students visited Old Bethpage Village Restoration for a STEM/History Nineteenth Century Scavenger Hunt. This unique opportunity allowed the Kellenberg History and Science Departments to partner with the staff at Old Bethpage Village to develop this program. During the trip, students were able to identify
