Article by Rose Haslbauer, class of 2014:
Last Friday night, the Catholic League at Kellenberg had their first retreat of the school year, led by Mr. Shaun Moran, Mrs. Jennifer Strauss, Mr. Eric Harnisch, and Mrs. Trista Harnisch. It provides a great escape from the students’ busy lives to focus on what truly matters, Christ through the Eucharist. Miss Jannique Stewart, the guest speaker for the two day retreat, gave a powerful testimony supporting the pro-life standpoint.
In addition, the members of Catholic Leauge participated together in both prayer and recreation through Mass, adoration, recitation of the rosary, dinner, and midnight games of gaga-ball and volleyball. However, the most spiritually empowering part of the retreat was the all-night Eucharistic Adoration. The Blessed Sacrament is taken out and students sign up for time slots throughout the night to offer their prayers to God.
The retreat ended Saturday afternoon after a hearty breakfast, morning prayer, and a Q-and-A session with Miss Stewart, leaving everyone feeling spiritually renewed.
