The Kellenberg Boys Varsity Basketball Team travelled to Jamaica, Queens on Monday, February 15, to meet NBA Hall of Fame coach, Chris Mullins, and assistant coach, Mitch Richmond and watch the St. John’s University Men’s Basketball Team’s practice.
The Firebird players got a first-hand view of the hard work and high level of play it takes to become a Division I basketball player. The boys watched drills, learned how major college coaches inspire their players to work hard in practice and how competitive basketball is at the next level. Many thanks to Mr. Robert York for setting up the event for the team in what was a truly unique experience for these young men.
