Over the break, the Firebird Wrestling Team hosted their 15th Annual Ed Solosky Memorial Tournament, proving they are a force to be reckoned with.
Leading the charge for the successful tournament were Kenneth Castro, Ryan Arecco, Marco Cigliano, Brendan Barkley, and Chris Parisi, each of whom won their weight class, setting the tone for a dominant performance from Kellenberg.
But the Firebirds didn’t stop there. The boys claimed first place as a team, placing 27 wrestlers in the top six of their weight classes and displayed their depth and strength across the board.
Additionally, outstanding runner-up finishes went to Cole Mannino, Luke Klinger, Isaiah Griffin, Nicolas Bribitzer, Brendan Jewels, Michael Entenmann, and Aydan Gotterup, while Nathaniel Chungata, Connor Ephraim, Bryce Boccio, and Alexander Winter-Lipari took home bronze medals with amazing performances.
Coach Fiore commented “Thank you to all the members of the team that helped throughout the tournament. Also, thank you to the members of the faculty, staff and administration that helped make the tournament a great success.”
The Firebirds look to carry the aggressive momentum from this tournament’s victory into the dual meet portion of the wrestling season.
