The class of 2026 came together on Friday night May 16, to celebrate that afternoon’s Junior Ring Ceremony, in which each junior was called up on stage in the Auditorium to receive a class ring and pins for club participation.
The theme for the dance was “Jungle”, which was set up beautifully by both the National Honor Society and the General Student Organization, or GSO. The students greatly enjoyed working together to transform the gym into a jungle encapsulated by trees, waterfalls, and stars for their special evening.
Mrs. Prosceo, moderator of GSO, says, “I was very proud of the students altogether, especially since they were a big help in the decorating process. I think all the juniors had a lot of fun and it was an amazing event to be a part of.”
At the evening banquet, the students enjoyed dinner, dancing, and dessert, while reminiscing on their past years at Kellenberg. Juniors also watched a slideshow, consisting of images of the class from years past, showcasing the swift passing of time.
Mr. O’Brien deejayed the event, keeping the audience energetic and electric the entire night. He played some Kellenberg favorites, like “My Lighthouse”, as well as some classics- “Piano Man”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, and “Dancing Queen.” The juniors brought the vigor to the night, participating in the Electric Slide and Cotton Eye Joe, while displaying their extensive school spirit.
Junior Keira Cook explains, “The banquet, as well as the Ring Ceremony, felt like the real introduction to becoming the new leaders of our school, and being able to be with all my friends at the banquet made it even better.”
The Junior Ring Banquet gave Kellenberg’s rising seniors the chance to spend time together and be united in their new status as role models in the school.
