On Wednesday, January 28, Kellenberg hosted a special recognition breakfast honoring student musicians from both the Latin School and High School. This event was held in the FCAA’s Maria Regina room during homeroom, and was set up to celebrate students involved in band, chorus, and orchestra.
The individuals in attendance were selected to participate in either the All-County Ensembles or LISFA (Long Island String Festival Association). These honors reflect countless hours of practice, dedication, and commitment to their craft.
Students were welcomed with breakfast items such as muffins, bagels, and much more as a special thanks.
This event served as a formal acknowledgement of all Kellenberg’s talented musicians and all the countless hours of work they put into rehearsals, performances, and concerts which ultimately make Kellenberg such a special place.
In opening the breakfast, coordinator of the event Mr. Kennedy remarked, “Kellenberg is recognizably a better place because of the work you do here. We appreciate what you do for our school, and we want to recognize all the hard work it takes.”
As the breakfast continued assistant principal Mr. York gave his thanks by commenting, “We want to congratulate you on your accomplishments and your persistence with something you’ve put so much effort into and sacrificed so much time for. As a school community we are truly grateful for what you project out on behalf of Kellenberg. You bring so much life into the school, so keep up the great work.”
Additionally, senior Victoria Vakser mentioned, “it’s great that after putting in so much effort and practice through attending rehearsals, and even events like All County that we get to meet up again with the friends that were by our sides the whole time.”
Overall, this breakfast was held to commemorate the musically inclined students who continuously help shape Kellenberg into what it is today, and continues to make the Kellenberg community stronger.
