This past week at Kellenberg, students athletes and coaches celebrated fall spirit week. Throughout the week various commercials were played on the announcements to get everyone excited for Friday’s Pep Rally.
This year the Kellenberg sports teams have grown closer even faster as many teams were able to participate in our new Athletes Retreat programs. Senior Kyle Mooney of boys cross-country said that the retreats helped the team feel more like a family and the trust exercises definitely helped him and his teammates grow closer.
The full week of excitement culminated in the fall pep rally by Friday afternoon as three separate pep rallies were in full swing. The Latin School pep rally was held on Matthew Field and was emceed by Marianist Mentors Darcy Gray and Jack Lawrence. AJ Cannatella and Mary Gruppp emceed the freshman-sophomore pep rally in the auditorium. Lastly the junior-senior pep rally was held in the gym as Dani Aglio and Kyle Driscoll narrated the much-anticipated A-ball tournament. The Firebird spirit didn’t stop there. On Sunday afternoon the student section at Mitchel field was full of fans ready to support the boys varsity football team for, what would be for many, their last homecoming!
