The day that the Kellenberg Blue and Gold teams have been waiting for finally arrived this Saturday when they took the floor at Hofstra University’s David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex to showcase the annual Spirit and Talent show. Even though both teams displayed an extraordinary amount of talent and ambition, Blue team was victorious for a third consecutive year, as captains Harley Strahl and Dylan Healy excitedly lifted the trophy over their heads in triumph.
The 2026 Blue and Gold season at Kellenberg Memorial High School featured two distinct, imaginative themes: the Blue Team presented “The Island of the Blue Pearl,” while the Gold Team countered with “Into the Golden Woods.” The season’s spirit was built through key school community events, beginning with an officer retreat at Stella Maris and culminating in a special senior luncheon to celebrate the Class of 2026’s final performance.

Mrs. Meisse, Blue and Gold coordinator, said, “This year’s Blue and Gold show was a true testament to the overwhelming amount of spirit and pride our students have in our school. Throughout the season, the Blue and Gold officers and participants worked tirelessly to put together an outstanding performance, and this weekend they did exactly that. We welcomed a record number of fans to the show, and the arena was absolutely engulfed in Blue and Gold pride from start to finish. The energy, enthusiasm, and support in the crowd created an unforgettable atmosphere and made the night even more special for our performers.”
Entrance captured the audience with their fairytale-beachy style outfits and impressive dance routine. Soon after, Jazz electrified the stage with a fast-paced dance that leveled the competition between the two teams.

Sophomore Emma Wagner, of Blue Jazz, said, “I’m thrilled to have been part of a winning team, but the work for the last few months and the bond between us all are even more valuable than winning to me.”
However, it was the Tumbling that really stole the show. Watching each team perform remarkable stunts with agility and poise left the crowd shocked and impressed, each team flying through the air in a Blue or Gold blurs.
Junior Issy Barone said, “I love being part of Gold Tumbling. The Blue and Gold event means so much to me. It brings so many girls together. The result always comes out amazing.”

The Hip-Hop segment of the show provided an additional jolt of adrenaline as the energetic songs and performances wowed the crowd while Green team, the event’s all male stage crew, did their part in making sure everything went smoothly for the dancers, rolling out mats and setting up scenes with props and equipment.
Blue Hip Hop’s Brigid Caputo said, “Seeing all the dedication from this season pay off is the best feeling. Huge shoutout to our captains and leaders for keeping us focused all season. We did it!”
