The Fall Spirit Pep Rally on Friday, September 26, initiated the enthusiasm of the first athletic season of the 25-26 school year.
The yearly tradition gives students the chance to show pride for individual teams and the school community. These teams went all-out with decorative costumes and in heart.
Telling the student body what this day is really about, organizer Miss Vigario, who has been running this event since 2016, said, “I wanted to continue the enthusiasm of the school like it was when I was a student.”
The underclassmen started with an auspicious performance by the JV Dance and Cheer teams.
According to dancer Lauren Casey, “The girls worked hard as we had been practicing all week.”
The exciting show was followed by a scavenger hunt led by seniors. Two representatives from fall sports teams rushed to the stage and were granted forty-five seconds to find a pencil hidden in the room.
Track-star Hayden Nolan reported, “We found the scavenger hunt items by running as fast as we could toward any teachers we knew or our classmates.”
The competition was fierce; everyone wanted to be the best team at Kellenberg, and this was known as the way to do it.
While Freshmen and Sophomores rampaged, Varsity teams had their own fun. Classic games were revived such as balloon popping and a new competition that was played long ago: musical chairs, but with a twist. In the finals, blindfolds were placed on ten remaining athletes while chairs were spread all over the floor. Everyone fought for the same chair, desperately wanting to win. The day ended with the Varsity Football team taking the gold in musical chairs, and with that the day’s crown.
This year’s pep rally left everyone with pride in all of Kellenberg’s teams and a hope that this momentum would spell victory this school year.
