Article by Phoenix writer Ryleigh O’Neill ’28:
On Monday, September 22, Kellenberg held its 33rd Annual Golf Outing for faculty, students, alumni, and family. Guests create their own groups, choose their own course, enter raffles, and enjoy meals together.
Seniors Eamon and Orla Cormican stood at the first hole and offered a challenge to the golfers in groups of four. Each golfer endured the challenge of trying to hit the ball close to the Kellenberg Firebird for a prize. If they won, they got a raffle ticket to use for a raffle event for later on in the school year. According to Eamon and Orla, the outing was an engaging day for the golfers and helped our school through the donations it received.
Many teachers love to attend this outing every year, as it is a great social start to their school year. Mr. Masulis’ favorite part of this day was when former Kellenberg teachers and coaches Mr. Buckley and Mr. Hanifan were honored for their dedication to Kellenberg Memorial. Mr. Masulis enjoyed reflecting on both of their life lessons, experiences, and legacies.
Miss Westerman said, “I love to play golf with my family and friends while keeping a close connection to the school. This event has become a family event for me.”
If you didn’t attend the annual golf benefit outing this year, Kellenberg encourages you to attend next year. Bring your family and friends. Enjoy a day of golf, raffles, fun, and contributing charitably to the school.
