MT 18:12-14
In Matthew’s gospel Jesus tells his disciples the parable of the sheep that strayed from the shepherd. When the shepherd found the one sheep he rejoiced more for that sheep than he did the other ninety-nine that had remained. Similarly, Jesus invites those who have strayed from him to return because he will welcome anyone with love and happiness. Jesus wants us to be with him and he desires for us to love him just as he loves us. In our daily lives it is important that we remember God’s love for us no matter how grave our sins or how difficult times are, for it is in these moments which we need God most. Whenever we are down or feel that there is no hope, we should turn to Jesus and he will provide the light that we need in our lives.
