LK 18:1-8

In this passage, Luke tells of the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel
to the Virgin Mary, revealing that she is going to be the mother of
the son of God. Angel Gabriel appears to Mary saying, “Hail, full of
grace! The Lord is with you.” Mary is scared and confused by this, but
the angel reassures her telling her not to be afraid. Mary is told she
is going conceive a son through the grace of the Holy Spirit, and the
child’s name will be Jesus. Then, we see Mary’s Fiat: “May it be done
to me according to your word.” All Catholics should try and live their
lives like Mary. She completely trusts in God and his plan for her,
and she is obedient to His will. We all need to have faith in God this
Advent, as well as the rest of the year, and trust in his plan for
each of our futures.
