LK 10:21-24
As the Christmas season approaches, we are reminded by the Gospel of Luke how much of a blessing it is to be among those who grasp the beauty of Christ and His kingdom. (“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.”) Jesus spoke these words to his apostles after they had just returned from going to various cities and preaching. They were all excited from the success of their recent mission. Jesus was proud of his apostles and rejoiced in the power of the Holy Spirit. During this Christmas season, we too are on a mission to draw people’s attention away from all the shopping and madness that surrounds it. More importantly, our job should be to remind our brothers and sisters of the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus Christ.
