The Girls Varsity Cross Country attained what one writer called, “the biggest upset team win in high school cross country in the history of the 45-year-old meet,” in winning the CHSAA championships at Van Cortlandt Park Saturday afternoon. The team of Maureen Lewin, Maya Richardson, Brianna Lausev, Ashley Minns, Margaret McLoughlin, and Ceili Donnelly defeated the number ranked team not only in the CHSAA but so ranked on Long Island. It was the team’s first such win since 2010.
