Butterfly Release 2017

Article & photos by Madison Callinan ‘18:

Kellenberg Memorial is a wonderful place to grow not only for students but also for butterflies! Latin Schoolers watched the creatures transition from an egg to a caterpillar to a chrysalis to an adult butterfly in Kellenberg Memorial’s science lab. Everything from the golden specks on the pupas to the flapping of their wings brings the material students learned in class to life. The middle schoolers themselves are also in the process of transitioning into young adults. The butterfly serves as a wonderful reminder that “you’ll never know how far you can fly until you spread your wings.”
