Jn 4:5-42
When Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, she is skeptical of him. This makes sense, because he was a stranger asking her for water. I can imagine how amazed she was when Jesus told her his knowledge of her background. The Samaritans had been waiting for Christ to come, so the feelings that she must’ve had when she realized she had found Him were probably incredible. She was so excited about this good news that she went back to her town and shared it with all the other Samaritans. In her spreading of the gospel and the word of the Lord, Jesus was nourished. He told His disciples that He did not have to eat because his food was to work to teach the word of God and that’s exactly what he was doing with the Samaritan woman at the well.
