2 TIM 1:8B-10
“Bear your hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.” Everyone is faced with crosses to carry throughout their lifetime. This reading reminds us that we are never called to bear a hardship that we can not overcome with the strength that is given to us by God. The reading also explains that we are “called to a holy life, not according to our works but according to his own design.” As much as we try to plan our lives we must remember that God has a greater plan for us. Jesus who “destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” saved us and enabled us to live the life that God not only planned for us but gave us the strength to undertake.
