This past weekend Zach traveled to Syracuse New York to take part in the New York State Band Directors Association Honors Band.
As a participant, Zachary was identified as one of the top musicians in all of New York State.
The weekend was filled with rehearsals of professional concert band literature, culminating in a captivating final performance on Sunday afternoon.
Band instructor Mr. Vegas recognized Zachary’s achievement saying, “To be chosen for this makes you among a small percentage of musicians in all of New York State. This shows Zach’s incredible skill and dedication. Few are chosen for this, and we are fortunate to have one.”
Zachary expressed his joy of attending the event, saying, “I had the most amazing time at the NYSBDA symposium. When you get to these competitive ensembles, you recognize a lot of familiar faces from local ensembles, including Nassau, Suffolk, and all-county. I had a great experience with like-minded kids who are equally as talented and get to make amazing music!”
Congratulations to Zachary on achieving this honor and for a job well done.
