Kellenberg’s annual Mother/Son Evening of Recollection took place this past Friday on March 21. With 400 people in attendance, the event was well attended by Kellenberg mothers and their sons.
The mother/son duos arrived at Kellenberg at 7 o’clock. The event started off with a mother son Kahoot, with questions about famous mothers and sons. To follow this, participants played Simon Says, and Name That Tune (a Kellenberg staple). Though the competition was high between families, there were many smiling faces during the various games.
After the games, Mrs. York led those in attendance in prayer, with a reverent focus on Mary’s Annunciation. Prayer was followed by a reflection song led by Mr. Von Elm. It is no surprise that after all the games were played and prayers were said, the guests at the Mother/Son Evening of Recollection would be famished. Kellenberg provided an array of food which included: pasta, salad, pizza, grilled cheese, and soup. The guests left Kellenberg with full stomachs and happy faces.
When asked what his favorite part of the Mother/Son night was, Frankie Pietronigro said, “I’d have to say that my favorite part of the Mother/Son night was the sit down dinner where I was able to spend quality time with my mom and have fun with her.” Mr. Cioffi, along with Mr. O’Brien and Mrs. York, ran this event. When asked what his favorite part of the night was, Mr. Cioffi said, “The whole night! It was really fun to host the games and bring the moms and sons on stage to participate in the games.”
