Poem by Aren Saraydarian ’26
O Ararat, thy pure and snow capped peak
Shines brighter than the sun that beams above,
Where Noah sent the olive bearing dove,
Where rays of brilliant light from heaven streak.
O Ararat, thy fatherly embrace
Surrounds, protects, and sanctifies our lands;
So mighty and unparalleled thou stands,
So peaceful and unmatched in all thy grace.
O Ararat, thy presence of grandeur
Remains no more within our holy soil
And looks no more with joy, but with remorse.
O Ararat, thy sons can never lure
Thee home, nor can thou ever spin or toil
To reconcile our undesired divorce.
